A338 Hungerford to Wantage

The A338 stretches all the way from Bournemouth to Oxford, connecting much of the west of the Thames Valley with the M4 and the A4.

The route between Hungerford and Wantage is little more than 11 miles long and a single carriageway. It is a popular route for bikers, taking them out of Berkshire, through the scenic Lambourn Downs before their arrival at Wantage.

Unfortunately, the road has been the scene of nearly 200 collisions resulting in injury since the end of 2002. Of those, 33 have been fatal or serious injury collisions, of which 10 have involved bikers.
